Welcome to Bistro49

OUR NEW CULINARY PLAYGROUND IN THE FOOTHILLS OF CALIFORNIA GOLD COUNTRY

Bistro49 is a fun, casual, multiple award-winning bistro-style restaurant located in Sutter Creek, California, just steps away from the historic 1849 gold rush trail known as Highway 49. We pair a variety of traditional American favorites with our special mix of southern and Caribbean-inspired flavors.

Led by multiple award-winning Executive Chef KC Brown, our talented team of creative culinary misfits have more than 50 years of experience and a true passion for the art of food and flavor. We take great pride in creating the finest, freshest dishes made with locally-sourced and farm-fresh ingredients, a pinch of love, and our unique "Southern Bites" twists.

Looking for a quiet, stuffy, fine dining experience?

Sorry, we're probably not that place.

Our guests enjoy the upscale yet casual "flip flops and fine food" atmosphere, where our lively mix of Bob Marley and island music fills the air of our famous market light-covered New Orleans-style outdoor courtyard and restaurant. Our indoor seating areas provide diners the opportunity watch our chefs design every plate we serve, smack-dab in the center of the main dining room. Be sure to say hello and take a few photos while we're creating the colorful, edible art we're so well known for.

We refuse to compromise on quality, so we grow many of our fresh herbs and produce at our local farm in Jackson, and purchase the freshest goods available from nearby farmers and boutique producers whenever possible. No matter the season, you can be certain you're eating the very best at Bistro49. Our chef-curated dinner menu changes regularly to feature seasonally-appropriate dishes and flavors.

    Our Vision

We believe in a place where people of every race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, disability, and sexual orientation can come together, put aside their differences,

and learn from one another over a great meal.

    We will be that place.

    Our Bistro49 Family

Like our famous recipes, the Bistro49 family is a mix of cultural flavors with a great origin story.

We are proud to be an African American-owned restaurant. We're also have a team witch includes Caucasian, Latina, Native American,  female, and veterans. Very few restaurants can stake that claim.

Our small, local bistro is owned and operated by three different families with diverse backgrounds and a shared passion for excellent food and service. Just like the '49ers during the California gold rush, each of us traveled a long and winding journey to strike culinary gold here in Sutter Creek, California.

Our two creative and highly-talented chefs have more than 50 years of combined culinary pedigrees, from greasy fast food joints to the kitchens of five-star restaurants on the Las Vegas strip. Our Sommelier is a 22-year high school English teacher with a love of wine, fine champagne and Shakespeare. Our host is a retired 30-year law enforcement officer with a love for serving people, and a technology and graphic design background. Our children have been hosts, servers, bussers, food runners and dishwashers. We all love and rescue animals, and encourage guests to bring their fur babies when they dine in our outdoor courtyard. We even created a delicious doggy menu and always have a big bowl of fresh, clean water available for our canine guests.

Dine with us on your next visit to Sutter Creek. Be warned - once you're here, you're our family, too.

    You're family, too. Welcome home.

    Our Family Values

We believe in family, honesty, teamwork, transparency, giving back to our local community,

and our passion and dedication to the culinary arts.

    Welcome to our Bistro49 family.
